Wet Paper Towels

Posted by Jimmy on Apr 1, 2009 in Baby, Videos

Our boy, Henry, has a secret addiction: he loves wet paper towels the way Simon Cowell loves uncomfortably v-necked t-shirts.

It all started when we started using wet paper towels to wipe down his hands and face after he’s eaten some solid food. He hates being wiped off, but loves the paper towel. His goal is to simultaneously avoid being wiped off while grabbing the paper towel in grubby double fists and jamming it into his mouth. And once there, he’ll keep it there for a long time. Occasionally, we can hear him sucking some of the water out of it (“fffffft, fffffft, fffffft”), but most of the time he just keeps various amounts stuck in his mouth and we can’t help but laugh.

The following video has some toddling in it, but don’t be fooled - the real star is the wet, white quilted-quicker-picker-upper dangling from the young man’s maw.

Binkies? Can’t stand ‘em. Lightly moistened paper products? Now you’re speaking Henry’s language.

Baby’s First Steps & Other Stuff

Posted by Jimmy on Mar 29, 2009 in Baby, Videos

He’s done it! Henry took his first steps 2 days ago!  At just over 8 months old, our precocious child is mastering the art of bipedal locomotion :)

Our little baby, all grown up and toddling!  He definitely has a mind of his own and likes figuring out how to use his new body. Now that he’s mastered troublemaking at the crawling level, he’s ready to wreak havoc at 2 feet off the ground :)  The next video is from a week ago at Grandma and Grandpa Dunn’s house when he was even less stable than he is now.

You know that sticker that comes on the wipes container?  So does Henry.

Our New Digs

Posted by Danika on May 25, 2008 in Videos

Jimmy says “digs” is a cool word for an apartment. I hope he’s right. Anyway, we upgraded to this nifty flat (I know that means apartment) just north of Smith’s that is AMAZING! We’re so happy about it that Jimmy took a video tour to show everyone we know. Forgive us for showing off, but it’s just so much better than a one-bedroom, two-car garage with a shower so small you couldn’t raise your elbows - we just couldn’t resist!

Vocal Point

Posted by Jimmy on Feb 14, 2008 in Fun, Videos

For those of you who don’t know, I was in Vocal Point for a while a few years ago. As a matter of fact, the first time Danika and I saw each other was at a Vocal Point gig (funny story, remind me to blog it later). Anyway, I’m a vocal percussionist, a beatboxer. I don’t have a lot of video of us performing, but here’s one of the group from 2006.

We performed for the Homecoming Spectacular the fall after we won at ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella).

And here I am doing a drum solo during a show in Springville, Utah. I think the flowers were there for a play they were doing in that theater.
